#628 Glen Brae Dr at Cox Ave
Date Received: October 23, 2025
Requesting Resident: George Mednick
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Cox Avenue and Glen Brae Drive
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The recent installation of ADA Curb Ramps has severly
constricted the width of Glen Brae Drive at that intersection. The
street is barely more than one lane in width. This poses a traffic
hazard. There is not enough room for two cars to pass.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
The newly constructed curbs need to be demolished and
reconstructed. Glen Brae must be widened at the intersection to
permit two cars to pass each other. The sidewalks are way too
wide and consume an unreasonable amount of the limited space.

Date Received: October 24, 2025
Requesting Resident: Kevin Toth
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae Dr snd Cox
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The intersection of Glen Gray Drive and Cox has recently had some
construction done to increase the width of the sidewalks. This unfortunately
has significantly pinched the width of Glen Brae Dr. at that intersection. Not
only has this construction made it more dangerous, it is also limited Car’s
abilities to turn from Glen Brae onto Cox. Previously two cars could turn onto
Cox simultaneously, one turning left, and one turning right. Now, the width of
the road has been limited such that only one car can fit across. Cox is a fairly
busy road so it’s not uncommon for someone trying to make a left to have to
wait for more than a minute to find an opening so that they could safely turn.
This construction now forces anybody trying to make a right turn to have to
wait for all the people in front of them to be able to clear the way before they
have a chance to make their turn. Honestly, I don’t understand what the
purpose of this construction was, as it seems to make it more dangerous, and
creates even more of a bottleneck at this intersection.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Undo the construction and return it to the way it was. What benefit is this
providing? It only seems to make it worse and more dangerous.

Requesting Resident: George Thorn
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae Dr. and Cox Avenue
Description of traffic safety
concern:
New pavement installation leaves very little room for cars turning
in and out. There will be traffic collisions, almost certainly.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Take out the new installation. It clearly wasn’t well thought
through.

Requesting Resident: Andy Chan
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae & Cox
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The driving road between Cox and Glen Brae has reduced due to recent
construction change. This is very dangerous, the road is too narrow now and
definitely can cause crash between driving from Glen Brae to Cox and car
driving out from Cox
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Reverse this change, this change is very undesirable for the residence in
Saratoga.
Date Received: October 23, 2025
Requesting Resident: James Stubbe
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae and Cox. Go look yourself at this totally stupid thing
you have done.
Description of traffic safety
concern:
What on Earth were you thinking with the nightmare curbs you are putting
pin at Glen Brae and Cox???? You have created a dangerous situation with an
overly narrow roadway and a ludicrously sized sidewalk. It even looks stupid
and unsightly. And I don’t know how many accidents you will be causing by
this but I have already witnessed close calls and traffic slow downs on Cox.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:

Requesting Resident: Laurie Bishop
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae dr and Cox ave
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The newly installed ramps make this a very unsafe area. It is too narrow to
properly enter Glen Brae and puts drivers at risk for being hit. We are sitting
ducks! On top of that, this is a major access point to our neighborhood. The
athletic fields always fill up on the weekends and the traffic backing up there
will continue past the railroad tracks.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Return this intersection to the way it was before!
Date Received: October 23, 2025
Requesting Resident: Mukta Mukhija
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
GlenBrae and Cox
Description of traffic safety
concern:
I wanted to bring to your attention a major safety concern at the GlenBrae
and Cox intersection. The width of GlenBrae at this intersection has been
significantly reduced, effectively turning it into a single lane for two-way
traffic. Currently, two vehicles cannot pass safely at the same time, making it
extremely risky for cars entering or exiting from Cox.
This situation poses a serious traffic and safety hazard, especially during busy
hours and at night. It’s unclear what problem this change was intended to
address or what purpose the lane narrowing serves, but the result has made
driving conditions far more dangerous.
I would greatly appreciate it if the city could review this situation and take
appropriate corrective action to restore safe passage for both directions.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Revert it as it was before and make it SAFE

Requesting Resident: Diimitry Bobroff
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Cox and Glen Brae Drive
Description of traffic safety
concern:
Who is the incompetent who OK'd the drastic narrowing of Glen Brae Drive at
the Cox Avenue intersection, I have gotten almost in two accidents when in it
and making a turn while somebody is trying to get out is in the opposite
direction. This needs absolutely IMMEDIATE RECTIFICATION. ACCIDENTS WILL
SKYROCKET. LONG LINE OF CARS ON GLEN BRAE DRIVE TRYING TO JUST GET
TO THE INTERSECTION. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! AND, OUR CITY COUNCIL IS
ASLEEP????
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
This intersection needs absolutely IMMEDIATE RECTIFICATION. FIRE THE
INCOMPETENT WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA. THERE WAS NO
WARNING ABOUT THE CHANGE - JUST DONE ONE MORNING.

is occurring:
Intersection of Cox Ave and Glen Brae Dr. in Saratoga, CA
Description of traffic safety
concern:
Recently two new sidewalks were constructed at the intersection of Cox and
Glen Brae Dr. These sidewalks are very wide and have narrowed the entry
into Glen Brae Dr. Two lane road now looks like a single lane road. This could
potentially cause accidents. Please look into this issue and kindly shorten the
protruding sidewalks. Thank you, Sarika
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:

Date Received: October 30, 2025
Requesting Resident: Seema Shembekar
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Cox and Glen Brae
Description of traffic safety
concern:
On 10/25, there was some construction done on this intersection to slow
down traffic.
This construction has created more safety concerns than the original
problem.
The lane has narrowed down and there is no room from cox to turn into glen
brae without going to opposite lane. Now, the road has been turned into one
lane actually. I understand the initial concern but the solution I see, is not
working.
Let’s revert it back before big accident happens. For safety, I am taking longer
route to avoid the intersection.
There is no way that anyone can see extra concrete coming out of the
pavement into road at night.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Remove that newly constructed concrete ASAP

Date Received: November 2, 2025
Requesting Resident: Alan Levenson
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae & Scotland
Glen Brae & Cox
Description of traffic safety
concern:
I live at the corner and Glen Brae and Scotland and have lived there since
1998. Over the years I have noticed that people have tended to speed on
both of these streets more than they used to. In particular i complained about
the speeding on Scotland to the traffic commission but as far as I can tell no
action was taken.
Recently there have been two serious injury accidents on Scotland. Both of
these streets are fairly busy because they are entrances and exits to the
neighborhood and ae used by people who do not live in the neighborhood.
Please do not wait for a fatality or another serious injury accident to take
affirmative
action.
With respect to the corner of Glen Brae and Cox it appears that the
intersection was modified to increase the sidewalk space and decrease the
width of Glen Brae. There simply is insufficient room for two cars to safely
pass each other. Perhaps done for ADA reasons but no notice was given to
the public that I am aware of to warn them of this change or comment on the
project and design thereof. Cars turning left onto Glen Brae from Cox often
take this turn at a relatively high speed as Cox is a 35mph zone. A hazardous
situation now exists and it needs to be rectified before a serious accident
results.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
With respect to the speeding problem on Scotland, speed inhibitor
techniques need to be considered. Speed bump of soucrse should be
conisidered. Another possibility would be install an island traffic circle with a
stop sign at the intersection of Scotland and Braemar. Traffic islands have
been used with success in Palo Alto and Berkeley. This location is 1/2 the
distance between Saratoga and Glen Brae and a traffic island should have the
desired speed inhibition effect. Speed bumps have been suggested for Glen
Brae and I am aware that speed bumps were installed and later removed/. I
think the time has come to reconsider this idea. A traffic island might also be
considered.

Requesting Resident: Thomas Feldman
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Glen Brae and Cox Avenue
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The corner of Glen Brae and Cox Avenue has become a dangerous
intersection. The recent work completed by the city has caused this
intersection to be extremely narrow, limiting the ability for two cars to pass. If
a car is entering Cox Avenue or waiting to enter Cox Avenue from Glen Brae,
it is virtually impossible for a car or larger vehicle to turn onto Glen Brae from
Cox Avenue. What is happening, is that cars entering Glen Brae from Cox
Avenue are required to wait until the intersection has cleared before entering
Glen Brae, potentially causing a backup on Cox Avenue. Please re-evaluate
the work that has been done and assess the potential dangers of this newly
reconstructed intersection.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Date Received: November 5, 2025
Requesting Resident: Alice Patrick
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Cox Ave. and Glen Brae Drive
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The new curb ramps are much too big, leaving very little room for two cars,
much less a truck. Anyone making a turn at that intersection is in danger of a
collision with a car making a turn from the opposite direction. This is a
disaster waiting to happen.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Remove the curbs or at least decrease their size.

#629 Scotland Dr between Saratoga Ave and Glen Brae Dr
Date Received: October 23, 2025
Requesting Resident: Hubert Shih
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
scotland dr between saratoga ave and glen brae dr
Description of traffic safety
concern:
To Whom it May Concern,
I am a longtime Saratoga resident and have lived on Scotland Drive for almost
40 years. Over that time, I’ve observed that vehicle speeds on Scotland have
become increasingly dangerous, especially in the section between Saratoga
Ave and Glen Brae, where cars tend to drive particularly fast.
Many drivers appear inattentive, often speeding well above the posted limit,
using their phones, rushing to work. This combination has created a
hazardous environment for residents, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. Several
accidents have occurred within the past month alone, including a pedestrian
being hit by a car, and a parked car at 19540 Scotland Dr being struck by
traffic at a high speed. It feels like a ticking time bomb. We have been
fortunate that no one has been seriously injured or killed.
I would like to respectfully suggest that the City consider installing traffic-
calming islands or chicanes, perhaps starting with the most affected section
of Scotland between Saratoga and Glen Brae, to help slow vehicle speeds and
enhance safety. I’m unable to attach a photo of what I'm talking about here,
but other residential neighborhoods in the Bay Area have this. The North
Page 2 of 2
Fair Oaks district of Menlo Park comes to mind. They seem to not only help
make traffic safer, but also add quite a bit of visual appeal to the
neighborhood.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
install traffic-calming islands or chicanes
Date Received: November 22, 2025
Requesting Resident: Sudha Deane
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Scotland x Breamar
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The intersection of Breamar x Scotland is incredibly dangerous and resulted in
the serious injury (hospitalization required)of 2 pedestrians in less than a 2
week span. I live on the corner of the intersection and continually see cars
traveling excessively fast on Scotland, as well as cars taking the turns too fast.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
A stop sign or traffic light is warranted. It would also be beneficial to have
speed bumps added to the length of Scotland drive to slow down the flow of
traffic.

Date Received: October 23, 2025
Requesting Resident: Ruby Dosen
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Thelma/Saratoga Vista/Beaumonte/ Hammons ave/Beaumonte/Saratoga
sunnyvale rapid (Thelma corner and SS is dangerously place to cross or enter
traffic, there is a preschool at intersection, 4 accidents there since august
with overturned cars even, would a child or children need to die before
soemthing is done to haunt the speeders)? Big basin way constant daily
speeding and continued selling of racing fuel to whom again? Why is racing
fuel sold in ares where speed limit is 25 -30? Someone enlighten me!!! Speed
limit posted vs actual speed limit that is a fact on big basin way is 55-70, ask
me how I know.
Description of traffic safety
concern:
I have not head back since August when I sent description of major speeding
and traffic issues in our areas. Local resident Ed Deanes 11 week old daughter
and wife were almost killed, they ended up in hospital with broken bones. An
elderly man who was walking on Scotland ave is still in the hospital due to
local speeding. We are afraid to walk on our streets or walk our pet.
WHO and WHEN? Why did we elect you! I’ve been tooting my horn since
2015 and nobody is listening and here I am 10 years later sounding like a
broken reactors because what we say falls on deaf ears, our well intended
voice messages and emails fall on deaf ears because same old continues!
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
I explained what could be done in my past emails and all the dozens of VM
left over the years. I have yet to see transformation in our community
regarding the excessive speeding. Hwy 9 is a joke, speeders going at 65-80,
unreal what has happened, just unreal! When will you remove the racing fuel
from the big basin Saratoga avenue gas station? When will I hear back? When
will we see results? Thank you.

#631 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd at Pierce Rd
Date Received: November 3, 2025
Requesting Resident: Marc Kocir
Street name and cross street(s)
where the traffic safety concern
is occurring:
Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road @ Pierce Road
Description of traffic safety
concern:
The west side for pedestrians walking north have no safe path except into the
bike lane which also allows vehicles to make right turns up Pierce Road. This is
a disaster waiting to happen. The west side passing over Rodeo Creek leaves
no room for error for pedestrians and cyclists being sandwiched between
cars and the guardrail.
Suggestions to address the
traffic safety concern:
Eliminate the right turn for motorists via the bike lane and provide a safe
pedestrian path.
Improve the Rodeo Creek Bridge similar to the east side on the street with a
safe walkway
