RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 BUDGET FOR
HAKONE GARDENS KOI POND RENOVATIONS CIP PROJECT
WHEREAS, City parks are maintained by the City as open space areas for all residents to
enjoy, and
WHEREAS, Hakone Gardens is a City park facility that is very popular with residents and
visitors alike, and
WHEREAS, the Koi Pond at Hakone Gardens is deteriorating and in need of renovations,
and
WHEREAS, in FY2022-23 the City established a CIP project to start accumulating the
estimated $5 million needed for the project, and
WHEREAS, the City has recently received Park Development funds from development
applications that can now be allocated to Park Development Projects, and
WHEREAS, a Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget amendment is necessary to allocate funding to
the Hakone Gardens Koi Pond Renovations CIP Project as follows:

Transfer Out of Unallocated Fund 422.9299-999.99999 ($2,500,000)
Project Revenue/ Expenditure 422.9222-008.49999/81161 $2,500,000
To transfer funds out of the Park Development Unallocated Fund and appropriate project
revenue/expenditure for Hakone Gardens Koi Pond Renovations CIP Project for Fiscal Year
2026-27.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga does
hereby amend the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget.

The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga
City Council held on the 7th day of October 2026 by the following vote:
