MINUTES - SARATOGA YOUTH COMMISSION

IV. OLD BUSINESS
a. Annual Appeal
1. $10,069 in revenues
b. Middle School Dance
1. Next dance is Friday, December l4
a. Dress code
i. Dress code will not be enforced; Parents responsible for
over viewing how their children dress
2. Dancing
i. Freaking has never been allowed nor will be accepted at
dances. Vulgar dancing is not acceptable and is stopped
when seen.
3. High school students involvement at dances
i. Saratoga Youth Commissioners allowed to work although
high school students are not allowed.
c. Website
1. New site has been published. The location is saratogateen.com
d. Advertisements
1. Enhances the seriousness of dance to resemble a club

2. For each company that wants to advertise, the Youth Commission should
approve the company
3. Restrict to only the logo or else the Commission should approve a logo
4. Case by case approval basis
5. If anything is offered below $9.15, announce the rate -
6. Motion: Motion made by Wu that our three current offers be approved

e. Skate Park
1. Skate Park presentation will be given to City Council and a Youth
Commission followup will be done at the joint meeting
f. YAC Attack
1. Information as to the next date will be given to selected commissioners as
soon as available
g. CSF & Key club
1. Tutors will be coming to the Teen Center within the coming weeks.
2. More school sponsored community service club students are encouraged to
come and tutor students

1. Questions have been designed to target users of the Warner Hutton Teen Center and
Youth Commission sponsored events

1. Commissioners need to focus on their work and commissions

3. Motion made by Luskey to support skate park
a. Voted by Commission to vocally support skate park
