Following is a summary of the action taken. I. Roll Call __ All Commissioners were present except Mary Gandrud II. Report on Posting of Commission Agenda Carolyn King reported that the agenda had been posted on May 22;' 1987. III. Old Business A. Report on Monte Sereno City Council Meeting, May 5, 1967. Commissioner Barbara Wood reported on her presentation to the Monte Serene Council requesting that they consider funding additional Sunday hours in f.y. 87/68. Council's decision is not yet known. B. Discussion of f.y. 87/88 Library Budget County Librarian Susan Fuller reported that the Board of Supervisors will begin hearings on the proposed budget vn ~ June 17. C. Discussion of Sunday Library Hours Carolyn King reported that the funding for Sunday hours is still in the proposed budget which the City Council will be acting upon on June 3, 1987. D. Discussion of Attendance at ALA Convention County Librarian Susan Fuller discussed the program for the convention which will be held in San Francisco in June. IU. New Business A. Discussion of Installing Benches in Front of Library Library Supervisor Lois Thomas suggested consideration of the installation of benches in front of the library for the convenience of patrons. Various means of acquiring them will be explored. . U. Reports Susan Fuller, County Librarian Susan Fuller reported that -the County Recorder will be renting space in four County library branches to set up sattelite offices. j . Lois Thor-as , Co~~r ~ nity Library Supervisor Lois Thomas reported C1) that the Friends of the Library are ~ donating a paging systertif'or the Library, and C2? that she is still hoping Local residents will donate one or more cor-puters to be Made available to library patrons. Carolyn Kinq, City Staff Representative Carolyn King reported an C1) the status of the Cor~rrrrission's request to City Council on the installation of an outside pay phone, and C2) the first issue of the internal newsletter which will be sent on a rTOnthly basis to all City Council and CoMrrission rier~bers as well as Gity staff . " Marilyn.. Kanerhura, Ghair Marilyn Kanerrura cor-r-ented that no response had been received as yet on the feasibility report sent to City Council.
