TRAILS SUBCOMMITTEE INPUTS
TO PRC REPORT TO COUNCIL
1) Trail maintenance projects:
a) Upper Parker Ranch (Tank Trail) repairs/re-routing in progress; mudslide
closure area repaired and trail re-opened.
b) Mt. Eden (#12) and Teerlink Way (#13) trail repairs scheduled.
2) Current new trail activities:
a) Steve Haynes trail realignment completed. Trail surface utilized recycled
asphalt from demolished Congress Springs parking lot.
b) David House trail plan proposed to connect Chiquita Way to Upper Parker
Ranch realignment, provided approval given by Parker Ranch HOA.
3) Master Trail Map project:
a) Goal -list of parcels by number with matching owner name, property
address, etc., and update of property database to include Trail flag.
b) Progress -property list generated (262 parcels), forwarded to City staff.
c) Next -review title easements (co$tly); determine from City how
information is to be entered/maintained/coordinated.
4) UPRR Trail:
a) Want to set UPRR corridor as open space to preserve from development.
b) Investigate use of PG&E right-of-way for trail easement.
c) Identify parcels adjacent/near UPRR corridor.
` d) Need to address neighboring homeowner concerns.

b) Illegal bicyclist use of Upper Parker Ranch trail. ~u-~ ~C~ ~
~~~ i) Working with local advocacy group to repair damaged trail and VJ
neighbor relations.
ii) Need to determine approach to lessen future misuse.
6) Potential future projects:
a) Promote Saratoga's trails, i.e., Trail Day/Vl/eek/Month.
b) Investigate new Quito Rd/San Tomas Creek trail in conjunction with Santa
Clara Water District.
