REPORT SUMMARY: Huang appeal: Attached is a copy of the appeal application and a letter from Ms. Huang requesting continuance to February 2000 due to family medical problems. Apparently, the appellants will be making several travels out of the country in the next six months due to this unexpected illness. The appellant has been notified that this public hearing has been noticed and is scheduled for September 1, 1999 meeting; however, staff will be recommending the Council consider continuing it to a later time. Ms. Huang has informed the City that she will not be able to attend the September 1 meeting and has asked staff to contact herby telephone with the Council's decision on the matter. It is staff s recommendation to continue this matter to February 2000 as requested by the appellant or to another meeting date; however, it should be clarified that this continuance does not change the 12-month period effective dates which was granted by the Planning Commission at their meeting, to the applicant to correct the problem. Wright appeal: Attached is a copy of the appeal application and a letter from David Wright requesting a continuance to October 6, 1999 meeting. Sprint PCS appeal: Attached is a copy of the appeal application and staff is recommending that this item be continued to September 15, 1999 to allow ample time for the new Councilmember to review the materials. FISCAL IMPACTS: N/A ADVERTISING, NOTICING AND PUBLIC CONTACT: A continued public hearing notice will be posted in front of the Council Chambers the following day. No additional noticing is required. CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ACTING ON RECOMMENDED MOTION(S): Requests will not be granted. FOLLOW UP ACTIONS: Inform the appellants of the continued public hearing date(s).
