HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 04-066RESOLUTION NO. 04-066 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $780,578 AND PROVIDE AUTHORITY FOR CHANGE ORDERS UP TO THE AMOUNT OF $100,000. WHEREAS, bids were received for the FY2004-2005 Pavement Management Program, and WHEREAS, Bortolotto & Company submitted the lowest responsible bid of $580,578 which was 19% below the Engineer's estimate, and WHEREAS, because of the low bid, an additional $200,000 can be added to the contract to allow for additional overlay of City streets per the recommendations ofthe City's adopted Pavement Management Program, and WHEREAS, sufficient funds for the Pavement Management Program are appropriated in Fund No. 150, Highway Users Gas Tax Fund, Account No. 150-3005- 532-40.10, Contract Services, in the amount of $730,000, and Fund No. 351, Public Safety Fund, Account No. 351-0601-623-40-10, in the amount of $150,578. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Sazatoga that the City Manager is authorized to sign a contract in the amount of $780,578 with Bortolotto & Company, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign change orders, if needed, amounting to $100,000. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 4`h day of August, 2004, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Stan Bogosian, Norman Kline, Vice Mayor Kathleen King, Mayor Ann Waltonsmith NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Ann Waltonsmith, Mayor
