RESOLUTION CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"SARATOGA 1957-2" AND AT WHICH EIETION THE PROPOSITION
OF ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SARATOGA WILL
BE SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORS RESIDING WITHIN SAID TERRITORY.
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves
as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga has heretofore received a
petition signed by not less than one-fourth of the qualified elec-
tors residing within the territory hereinafter described, as shown by
the County registration of voters, and which said petition contains ~
description of the territory proposed to be annexed and asks that
said territory be annexed to the City of Saratoga, and
WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council passed its Resolution
of Intention pursuant to Section. 35116 of the Government Code of the
State of California, and. therein, the 3rd day of July, 1957, at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. was fixed as a time and place where ~itten
protests and objections might be made and heard to said annexation,
and at said hearing said Council determined that no protests had been
made to said annexation, and that for a period of not less than ten days
thereafter no supplemental or other protests were made or filed, and
said Council further finding that all Jurisdictional and procedural
steps required to be made or done from the commencement of said. annexa-
tion proceedings up to the present time have been duly and regularly
taken and done,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ordered that a special election in
said territory is hereby called to be held on September 10, 1957, in
the territory proposed to be annexed, which territory shall be and is
hereby designated as "SARATOGA ANNEXATION 1957-2", the

boundaries of which territory and the proposition to be submitted
to the electors residing therein being set forth hereafter in
the "Notice of Election"'.
The City Clerk is hereby ordered to publish in the Los Oatos
Times-Observer, a newspaper of general circulation printed and
published outside of the City of Saratoga but with. in the County of
Santa Clara, at least once a week for four weeks prior to said
election, the following notice of election, to-wit:

That opposite the aforesaid words there shall be printed on
the ballot the words "YES" and "NO" with a voting square to the right
of each. That if an Elector stamps a cross in the voting square after
the words "YES" his vote shall be counted for the annexation, and if

he sta~ps a cross in the voting square after the word "NO" his vote
shall be counted against the annexation.
The territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of
Saratoga is located in the County of Santa Clara, State of California,
and is more particularly described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point on the Southerly line of ProspetS Road
(40 feet wide), said point being 400.00 feet Westerly measured
along said line of Prospect Road from the Westerly line of
Road as it now exists (40 feet wide), said
point being also a corner in the Northerly boundary of the
original City limits line of the City of Saratoga; thence follow-
ing the original City limits line of the City of ,-l~rstoga as follows:
Southerly, parallel with and A~O0.O0 feet Westerly from the said
Westerly lime of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road to the intersectlot, there-
of with the center line of Calabazas Creek; thence in a ~eneral
Southwesterly direction upstream along the center line of Calabazas
Creek to the intersection thereof with the Northerly line of
Wardell Road (40 feet wide); thence Easterly along said Northerly
line of Wardell Road to the intersection thereof with the Westerly
line of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road (A~O feet wide); thence Northerly
along said Westerly line of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Ro~d to the inter-
section with the said Southerly line of Prospect Road (40 feet wide),
said point being 400.00 feet Easterly measured -~long said line of
ProSpect Road from the point of beginning; thence leaving the
original City limits line of the City of Saratoga end running
Westerly along the said Southerly line of Prospect Road ([~0 feet
wide) to the point of beginning.
There shall be one voting precinct hereby designated as

and the place at which polls will be open in said Precinct is as
follows: 12415 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, California
and the officers for said election therein are as follows:

Theresa E. Golden, 497 Wardell Ct.,Saratoga, Calif.
Inspector: Mrs. Margaret E. Luridell,
12415 Saratoga-Sunn vale Road, Saratoga, Calif.

7:00 o:clock A.M. to 7:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at ~hich time
the polls will be closed.
That the foregoing Notice of Election shall be published by
the City Clerk according to flaw and he skiall conduct said election
in said territory in the manner provided by law.
