A RESOLLtTION OF THE COIINCIL OF TIiE CITY OF SARATOGA IN
RECOGNITION OF Tt[~ VALUED CONTRIBUTIONS OF .MAYOR KENNETH
R, HAl{THAN TO TI~ FORHATION AND IHPLEHENTATION OF THE GOALS
OF TliE CITY OF SAI~ATOGA DESIGNED TO PRESERVE AND ENIiANCE
THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF TIiE CITYtS SETTING,
I~HEREAS, KENNETH R. HART1QJ{ rendered faithful service to the City of Saratoga
as Councilman from his initial assumption of the responsibility of that
office on September 28, 1960 until his untimely death July 18, 1968; and
WHEREASs in recognition of his outstanding perfornmnce as Counciiman and in
anticipation of the realization of the full potential of his leadership
FaNNETH R. liARTHAN wast unanimously~ elected }layor of Saratoga on July
1968~ and
WliEREASs KENNETH R, HARTMAN devoted his knowledge and professional skill in
the fields of horticul~uret forestry~ and landscape gardening to the pre-
servation of the city's natural beauty; and
WHEREAS, KENNETH R, HARTMAN further utilized his extensive horticultural
background to encourage development of adequate standards to insure
compatible with the natural assets of the Saratoga environment; and
WHEREAS, KENNETH R, HARTMAN will be sorely missed from our helm and from
our midst in future Council deliberations; and
WHEREASs KENNETH R, HAltTHAN will be even more sorely missed as a friend
by his fellow councilmen and his many friends amon~ the citizenry of
SaratoEa;
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the invaluable service rendered to the
City of Saratoga by KENNETE R, }LeaTHAN is hereby officially recognized by
the Saratoga City Councill
That the benefits accruing to Saratoga through the work of KENNETH R.
aRTMAN will have significance to Sara=ogans in ~he years to come as i~ has
during his active service to his con~nunity~
That this Council will continue to strive toward the goals for Saratoga
so strongly supported by KENNETtt R. HARTMAN in his devotion of time, skill,
knowledge, and effort to the best interest of the city he served so well.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Saratoga on the 7th dsy of August, 1968, by the
following vote|
