A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
URGING THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY INTER CITY COUNCIL TO CON-
DUCT A STUDY OF COUNTY WIDE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROBLEMS AND
TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF FORMING A COUNTY WIDE L~
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, the problems associated with enforcement of law have many
regional implications; and
WHEREAS, a regional approach to the organization of law enforcement
activity is essential to cope with problems which know no municipal
boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Inter-City Council has established
a reputation of effectiveness in dealing with county-wide problems through
the Transportation Policy Committee and the Planning Policy Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Councilor the City of
Saratoga that the Santa Clara County Inter-City Council be requested
to study the organization of law enforcement effort in Santa Clara County
to determine the effectiveness of existing law enforcement organization
and to recommend a regional law enforcement system designed to provide
optimum law enforcement possible for Santa Cl~a County with full use of
available law enforcement resources.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the
6th day of May, 1970, by the following vote:
