RESOLUTION N0. 589
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO FORM THE
PRIDES CROSSING SOUTH
PARK MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saratoga, Santa
Clara County, California, that
1. In its opinion the public interest and convenience require,
and that it is the intention of said Council to order the formation
-of s maintenance district in a portion of said City, pursuant to
Chapter 26, Part 3, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code,
the Improvement Act of 1911, to be designated "Prides Crossing South
Park Maintenance District", by which name it shall hereafter be
referred to in all subsequent proceedings, including proceedings
for the levy and collection of taxes.
2. Said Maintenance District, and the boundaries thereof, bene-
llted and to be assessed for the maintenance and operation of the im-
provements hereinafter referred to, are situate in the City of
Saratoga, County of Santa Clara, State of California, and are more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereso and by reference
incorporated herein.
3. It is ordered that the expenses of maintaining and operating
all decorative walls, walkways, crosswalks, steps, safety zones,
platforms, seats, statuary, fountains, recreation areas, parks and
parkways, signs, poles, posts, wires, pipes, conduits, lamps, and
other suitable and necessary appliances for the purposes of lighting
streets, places or public ways, water mains and sprinkler systems,
and ornamental planting including lawns, shrubs and trees, now ex-
isting or hereafter to be constructed in or for said Maintenance
District, and of benefit to said Maintenance District but not of
benefit to the City of Saratoga, as a whole, including the cost of
necessary repairs, replacements, water, fuel, power, gas, electric
current, care, supervision, and any and all other items necessary for
the proper maintenance and operation thereof, shall be assessed wholly
upon the real property within said Maintenance District above des-
cribed, which District said Council hereby determines will be the
District bonefired by the maintenance and operation of said improve-
ments, and that the amounts so assessed are to be levied and col-
lected in the same manner and by the same officers as taxes for City
purposes are levied and collected.
4. The Saratoga News, a newspaper published and circulated in
said City, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Reso-
lution of Intention shall be published, and the City Clerk of said
City is hereby directed to cause this Resolution of Intention to be
published by two insertions in the manner and form provided by law,
the first publication being at least ten(lO) days before the date
of hearing°
5o The City Clerk shall cause to be conspicuously posted along
all the open streets and avenues within said proposed Maintenance
District, and in front of all property liable to be assessed at not
more than 300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in a!l
on each street so posted in said Maintenance District, notices of
the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form
required by the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto,
said posting to be completed st least ten (10) days before the date
of hearing.
6~ The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause to be mailed
notice of adoption of this Resolution, postage prepaid, to all
persons owning real property proposed to be included within said
Maintenance District, to pay any part of the cost of the maintenance
and operation of the improvements heroinabove designated, whose
names and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll,

or as known to the Clerk. If property assessed by the State under
Section 14 of Article XIII of the Constitution is proposed to be
assessed, such notice shall be mailed to every owner of such pro-
perty at the address thereof shown on the last board roll trans-
mitted to the County Auditor. Said mailingI should be completed at
least fifteen (15) days before the date of hearing.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wednesday, the 15th day of September,
1971, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the regular meeting
place of said Council, Council Chambers, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue,
Saratoga, California, are hereby fixed as the time and place when
and where any and all persons having any objections to the forma-
tion of said Prides Crossing South Park Maintenance District, or to
the extent of said Maintenance District, or both, may appear before
said Council and show cause why the formation of said proposed Main-
tenance District should not be carried out in accordance with this
Resolution of Intention.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct
copy of Resolution duly passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Saratoga, California, at a meeting thereof held on the
18th day of August, 1971, by the following vote of the members

All that certain real property situate in the City of Saratoga,
County of Santa Clara, State of California, more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the southwesterly corner of Tract 4572 as shown
Ion that certain Tract Map recorded on December 4, 1968 in Book 2~5
of Maps st page 18, Santa Clara County Records, said point of
Beginning also lying on the centerline of Cox Avenue.
Thence North 0°06'47'' East 1,189!.04~feet along the westerly
boundary of said Tract 4572 to the northerly boundary of said Tract
4572.
Thence running along said northerly boundary of Tract 4572
South 85°19~ East 805°80 feet to the point of intersection with
the centerline of Titus Avenue.
Thence South 85~19'30'' East 957.22 feet to the northeasterly
corner of Tract 4573 as shown on that certain Tract Map recorded
on June 10, 1969 in Book 254 at pages 53 and 5~, Santa Clara
County Records,
Thence South 0o09'00'' West 1,004.10 feet
Thence North 85°26' West 229.34 feet
Thence South 0°09'00'' East 182.00 feet to a point on the
centerline of Cox Avenue.
Thence running along the said centerline of Cox Avenue North

Containing 46°937 acres, more or less.
