RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
ACKNOWLEDGING THE COMMUNITY SERVICE OF RENE JONES
WHEREAS, Rene Jones as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission for
the past six years did take Hakone Japanese Gardens under his personal guidance
and supervision; and
WHEREAS, his continued involvement and enthusiasm at Hakone Gardens during
the initial years Df City ownership led to the Garden's present direction of
development as evidenced by the water fall running once again, improvements to
the Moon Viewing House and other items too numerous to mention; and
WHEREAS, as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner he has been an asset not
only for the Commission, but for the entire community, through the expression of
those concerns and values which he felt important for the maintenance of Hakone
Garden's character;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saratoga does
hereby acknowledge the community service of Rene Jones and to retain his services
does hereby appoint him a Special City Consultant for Hakone Japanese Garden.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at the regular
meeting of the City Council September 20, 1972 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Smith, Dwyer, Bridges, Diridon and Kraus
NOES: None
