OF THE CITY OF S~ATOGA ~~ING

WHEREAS, affer extensive consideration by many qualified citizens, the
Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, on the advice of a special committee of Saratoga
residents, has selected Mrs. Margaret Reed "Citizen of the Year"; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reed has selflessly contributed her talents and efforts to
the enhancement of the communityin serving as one of the charter members of the
first annual Fall Festival and Parade Committee eight years ago; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reed has further distinguished herself as one of the originators
of the Miss Saratoga Contest, a participant on the General Plan Review Committee
and Christmas Decorating Committee in past years; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Reed has also served on committees relating to the incorpor-
ation of the City of Saratoga, passage of the Bond Issue for Saratoga High School,
the Cancer Drive and Community Chest, among others,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby acknowledge. the community service of Mrs. Margaret Reed and does here-
by commena her for being named "1972 Citizen of the Year" and extends its
appreciation for the services she has rendered on behalf of all Saratogans.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of
~March, 1973, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Kraus, Brid~es, Dirid ~/~mith ,.~ .on and Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Dwyer
