RESOLUTION CONFIRMING CANVASS BY THE REGISTRAR OF
VOTERS OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY OF SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara has
duly canvassed the votes cast in the City of Saratoga (hereinafter called the
"City") at the special municipal election consolidated with the State of
California Direct Primary Election held on June 8, 1976, in the City by the
electors of the City upon the measure hereinafter set forth, and has certified
to this City Council the result of the votes cast at said election upon said
measure, which said certification is now on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Saratoga as follows:
Section 1. The canvass of votes by said Registrar of Voters as shown
by said certification and the result thereof is hereby confirmed and approved.
Section 2. At said election the following re-zoning ordinance under
referendum proceedings was submittted to the electors of the City and the
number of votes cast in the City for and against said measure was as follows:
MEASURE (I): Shall the ordinance TOTAL VOTES TOTAL VOTES
(Parker Ranch Re-Zoning) conditionally reclassifying YES NO
a certain 218 acres of real
property in the foothill area
of the City of Saratoga, commonly known as the Painless Parker
Rangch, from its present R-1-40,O00 and "A" Zoning Classifi-
cation to an R-1-40,OOO-PC (single-family residential, planned
community) zoning district classification (which ordinance
is known as NS-3-ZC-75 and was approved by the City Council of
the City of Saratoga on the 4th day of February, 1976) be
adopted? 5,811 6,509
Section 3. The total number of votes cast in the City at said
special municipal election and the total number of votes given in each precinct and
by absentee voters of the City for and against said measure was and is set forth
in said canvass.
Section 4. Less than a majority of all the votes cast at said special
municipal election on said measure were in favor of said measure and said measure
fai 1 ed.
Section 5. City Clerk of the City is hereby instructed to enter this
resolution on the minutes of this City Council as a statement of the result of
said election.

AYES: Councilmen Bridges, Brigham, Corr, and Matteoni
NOES: None
