RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA APPROVING THE
PRIORITY PLAN FOR EXPENDITURE OF ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR PARK, BEACH, RECREATIONAL
AND HISTORICAL PRESERVATION PURPOSES
(STATE URBAN AND COASTAL PARK BOND ACT OF 1976)
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California did, at an election on November 2,
1976, adopt the "Nejedly-Hart State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976" (Public
Resources Code, sections 5096.111, et seq.), said Act becoming operative on January 1,
1977; and
WHEREAS, this Act provides for an allocation of $85,000,000 for grants to counties,
cities and districts for the acquisition, development, or restoration of real property
for park, beach, recreational and historical resources preservation purposes pursuant
to the allocation formula contained therein; and
WHEREAS, the amount to be allocated for expenditure within the County of Santa
Clara has been determined to be the sum of $4,724,965, to be spent in accordance with
a "priority plan for expenditure" approved by the County Board of Supervisors and at
least fifty per cent (50%) of the cities and districts representing fifty per cent
(50%) of the population of the cities and districts within the County; and
WHEREAS, the required consultation between the County of Santa Clara and all the
cities and districts within the County has occurred and a formula for allocating the
local share of this 1976 State Park Bond Fund has been prepared as shown on Exhibit A
attached hereto, allocating fifty per cent (50%) of the County's grant for regional
parks and open space and fifty per cent (50%) of said grant for local city parks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does approve this priority plan for expenditure and formula for allocating the local
share of said funds, as specified herein.
The above and foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City
of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 5th. day of JANUARY , 1977
by the following vote:
