A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Saratoga Thanking
the Members of the Saratoga Senior Citizen Housing Task Force for Their
Contributions to the Community
WHEREAS, H.A. (Bud) Beaudoin, Ran Duffin, George Bunyard, Peggy Corr, Mildred
Gordon, Eleanor Mann and Dorothy Dow Parker have served the citizens of Saratoga as
members of the Saratoga Senior Citizen Housing Task Force from 1975-1977; and
WHEREAS, these concerned community residents have diligently met twice monthly
for two years; designed and conducted a City-wide questionniare in an attempt to provide
in-depth insight into the housing needs of the Saratoga elderly; held a community
workshop on senior citizen housing, completed numerous visits to various types of housing
for senior citizens in order to more comprehensively appreciate the housing needs of
the elderly; 'and
WHEREAS, these Task Force members have heard numerous speakers, from both the
public and private sectors, expressing state-of-the-art viewpoints on se~ior citizen
housing, reviewed past studies on this subject, attempting to gain a truly comprehensive
understanding of the elderly residents of Saratoga and their housing needs; and
WHEREAS, this analysis, experience and understanding has led to the completion
of the City of Saratoga Senior Citizen Housing Need Analysis, a sensitive and meaningful
assessment of the need for senior citizen housing within the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby extend its appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the Saratoga Senior Citizen
Housing Task Force for their contribution to the City and its senior residents.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of March , 1977,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bridges, Brigham, Kraus, Corr & Metteoni
