A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SARATOGA CONCERNING THE FLOODING
ISSUE RELATIVE TO WESTERN FOOTHILLS AND
THEIR LOWER DRAINAGE BASIN
WHEREAS, the City Council is vitally concerned about the
flooding and drainage problems in the western foothills area;
and
WHEREAS, the recent Parker Ranch E.I.R., while addressing
the issue of flooding, cannot be used as the final work in
evaluating all the flooding problems in the area or their
proposed solutions;
NOW, T~j~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intention
of the City Council to demand that all flooding and drainage
mitigating measures, whether constructed by developers of the
western hills or other groups or public agencies, are to be
conceptualized, designed, and constructed in such a way as
to serve to implement a regional solution to the problems in
the area, assuming full development of the western foothills
under the General Plan
Further, irrespective of the potential for additional
development in the western foothills, the City of Saratoga
shall take action to explore and seek to implement solution to
existing flooding and drainage problems along Calabazas and
Prospect Creek in the area.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of B. aratoga at a regular meeting
held on the 1st day of November , 1978, by the following
vote:
