A RESOLUTION COM~ENDING
LYNN BELANGER
WHEREAS, Lynn Belanger has served over 7 years on the Saratoga
Planning Commission, and 3 years (January 1976 through December 1978)
as Chairman of the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Lynn has the unique distinction of being the first
woman appointed to the Planning Commission, and the first woman to
serve as its Chairman; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure as Chairman, Lynn earned a reputation
of treating citizens and developers evenly and fairly which evinced
her concern that the Commission establish and maintain a rapport with
the community; and
WHEREAS, Lynn Belanger impressed all who came in contact with
her with her dedication, thoroughness, her knowledge of the codes,
her perseverence in ferreting out the details in order to render an
informed decision; and
WHEREAS, Lynn was especially concerned about the future develop-
ment of the Saratoga hillsides and was instrumental and active in the
adoption of the Hillside Conservation Residential District Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Saratoga reluctantly accepts the resignation of Lynn Belanger
from the Planning Commission, and commands her for her untiring efforts
in helping make Saratoga a better place to live for all of us.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on
the 17th day of Jan~ar.y , 1979, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Kraus, Corr, Kalb, Callon, & Matteoni
NOES: None
