BESOLU'1'IOII OF 'l'BE CITY COUNCIL OF 'l'BE CI'l'Y OF SARATOGA
AUTHORIZING 'l'HE PILING OP AN APPLICATION POR ANNEXATION
OF THE AREA COMMONLY KROWN AS SUNLAND PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga was presented with a
petition for annexation submitted by residents of the area bordered
by Baylor Avenue on the north, McCoy Avenue on the south, Quito
Road on the west and Villanova Drive on the east, as described and
shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, such
area commonly known as Sunland Park; and
WHEREAS, following a noticed public hearing on June 18,
1980, the City Council made all of the findings required by the
Local Agency Formation Commission ("LAFCO") and voted to pursue
annexation of Sun land Park to the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, on July 23, 1980, a noticed public hearing was
conducted before the Planning Commission to consider the pre-
zoning of Sunland Park to an R-I-IO,OOO district, and such hearing
was continued to August 27, 1980; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive site specific plan for services
has been submitted to LAFCO, and on August 6, 1980, LAFCO approved
the proposed boundary transfer and determined that Sunland Park
was henceforth to be considered as within the sphere of influence
of the City of Saratoga, and
WHEREAS, following a noticed public hearing on August
27, 1980, the Planning Commission approved certain amendments to
the General Plan of the City of Saratoga and pre-zoning of the
area, as required for annexaction of Sunland Park, and recommended
such amendments and pre-zoning to the City Council for adoption;
and

WHEREAS, the City of Saratoga must now file an
application with LAFCO for annexation of Sunland Park, in the form
of Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager of
the City of Saratoga be and he hereby is authorized and directed
to execute for and on behalf of the City the Application For
Annexation of Sunland Park, in the form of Exhibit "B" attached
hereto, and to submit such application to LAFCO for approval. The
City Manager is further authorized and directed to execute for and
on behalf of the City of Saratoga, such other documents as may
customarily be required by LAFCO in connection with the
Application for Annexation of Sunland Park.

Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 17th day of
September , 1980, by the following vote:

SUNLAND PARK ANNEXATION
"Legal Description"
All that real and certain property located in the County of
Santa Clara, State of California, being a portion of "Sun-
land Park", Unit NO.1, Tract 976, recorded in Book 57 of
Maps A, pages 14 and',15, and a portion of "Sunland Park"
Unit No.2, Tract 977, recorded in Book 59 of Maps A, pages
40 and 41, Santa Clara County Records, and being more partic-
ularly described as follows;

Beginning on the centerline of Quito Road at the
northwestern corner of aforementioned Tract 977;
thence along the northerly limit of said tract
N88°26'E 536.00', thence continuing along said
notherly boundary and its prolongation N8S031' E
838.93' to the easterly right-of-way line of
Villanova Road; thence along the easterly right-
of-way line of Villanova Road, parallel to Tract
977 and 976 at a distance easterly of 20.00'
measured perpendicularly, 51055'E 1606.77' to the
centerline of McCoy Avenue! thence along the
centerline of McCoy Avenue S 88°12'20" W 1429.60'
to the westerly right-of-way line of Quito Road¡
Thence along the westerly right-of-way of Quito
Road at a distance of 45.001 westerly, measured
perpendicularly from the westerly limit of said
tract 976 and 277; N 1°41' W 1165.22'; thence
continuing N 1 17' w 448.15' to the westerly pro-
longation of the northerly limit'of Tract 977;
thence along said prolongation N88°26' E 45.00'
to the centerline of Quito Road and the point of
beginning.
