REBOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAI~TOGA
EBTI~BLISBING THE FINANCE COMMIBBION AND
REPEALINQ RESOLUTION 1011.3 CONCERNINQ THE FINANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WEEREAS, the Finance Advisory Committee was established on May 20,
1981, by Resolution 1011, which was later amended by Resolutions
1011.1, 1011.2 and 1011.3, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a Finance Commission
that will advise the Council on financial matters pertaining to the
governing of the City, as well as on the use of fiscal resources and
the development of technology for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolution 1011.3 is hereby
repealed. The City Council establishes in the place of the Finance
Advisory Committee the Finance Commission. The statement of purpose
of the Finance Commission and the membership for the Commission shall
be as follows:
1. The Commission shall undertake and perform specific tasks in
the areas of financial management, financial planning,
information technology development, facilities needs, resource
utilization, and other and such other related tasks as may be
assigned from time to time by the City Council.
2. The Commission shall meet monthly or as required to discuss
matters of concern.
3. It is not intended that the Committee function in an oversight
capacity.
4. The Commission shall consist of seven members who shall serve
four-year overlapping terms of office. Members shall be
selected on the basis of their knowledge, experience and
qualifications in financial management and related areas.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 19th day of November,
1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Bogosian, Jacobs, Shaw, Wolfe, and Mayor Moran
NOES: None
