COI(4ENDING AND THANKING TME CITY OF MUKO-SHI
AND ITS CITIZENS
WHERE,, the City of Saratoga is proud of its municipal Japanese garden,
known as Hakone Gardens, which is among the largest and best developed rep~senta-
tion of Japanese garden style in ~erica; and
WHER~S, Saratoga is gratefu~ to the City of Muko-Shi for past support of
. . Makone Gardens, and ~cognizes that the Rotary Club of Muko-Shi has become the sister
Club of the Rota~ Club of Saratoga, further strengthening the ties of friendship
and good will be~een our colunities; and
WHEREAS, the City ~f MUKD-SH[ is further supporting the development of Hakone
Satins, by hosting Jack Tomlinson, Japanese Garden Specialist, and assisting in
his training and education in the skills and methods of Japanese garden arts; and
.... . ; WHEREAS, between t~e cities of Muko-SM and ~ratoga there exists a bond
of mutual friendship and desire to continue the exchange of cultural activities;
flOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Saratoga, on behalf
of all its citizens, expresses sincere thanks to the City of Muko-Shi and its
citizens for their generous and gracious participation in our exchange.
'~:" BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Saratoga sends greetings and best
wishes to the City of Muko-Shi and ~ll ~ts citizens, through our representative
Oask T~linson.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga
City Council at a regular ~etlng on the 17th day of March, ~982, by unanimous vote,
