CONCEF~ING FEES CHARG[~ FOR APPEALS TO CITY COUNCIL
WHERFAS, the Saratoga City Council b/ts for many years charged an appeal fee of
$30 for any appeal, ara
WHEREAS, in ___aT~___ition to the appeal fee the City Council did, on July 21, 1982,
adopt Resolution 780.20, which resolution did, among other things, set a public
hearing charge of $50 plus a $150 deposit for the cost of mailing notioes+'to' -the
public, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined, after due consideration, that the
resulting $230 charge is excessive in the case of appeals, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to avoid discouraging Saratoga citizens from
coming before it to appeal decisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolution 780.20 is hereby amended to
change the appeal fee to a total of $50 plus, in the case of appeals requiring
public hearings, a $50 fee for the cost of mailing notices, any unused portion of
which will be refunded to the appellant, while the City will absorb any cost of
mailing notices which exceeds $50.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at an adjourned regular
meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 13th day of Deer, 1983, by
the following vote:
