cur society; and
WHEPZAS, st_sb!e marriages foster healthy family life, including loving, respon-
sible rearing of the young upon whGn our future rests; and
WHEREAS, all people -- children, singles, widowed and married -- have a personal
stake in the values of marriage; and
hMEP~AS, it is appropriate to recognize its importance, strength and personal
stake within the City of Saratoga;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Day of Sunday, February 12, 1984, is
hereby proclaimed
SARATCGA CFI.MqRATES ~L~E DAY
AND We recutittend that youth organizations, service clubs, and other civic
grcups and churches feature activities and speakers to focus attention
on marriage during the week preceding;
AND We invite all people to join with us in this celebration of marriage
sponsored by the inter-faith com~onity of Saratoga.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council held on the 4th day of January, 1984, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callon, Clevenger, Fanelli, Mallory and Mayor Moyles
NOES: None
