WHEREAS, Ed Ca~ersall has served the City of Saratoga well and faithfully
as a ~ of the Parks and Recreation Ccrmission, and
WHEREAS, Ed was first appointed to the Ccnmlission in October 1976 and
served as chairman frc~n Decenber 1979 to the present time, and
WHEREAS, his contributions to the Oam.~ssion were many, but of particular
note was his work ~n the development of Congress Springs Park, the restoration
of Hakone Gardens, and various' pedestrian/equestrian trails.
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLd, that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga crr[sends
for his"many years of service on the Parks and Recreation Ccrmission and
hopes that he will continue to serve Saratoga in whatever manner he prefers,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council'declares that, in'light of
Mr. ~sall's extraordinary service and value to the City, he is proclaimed
as a Parks and Recreation Ccrraissioner f~_ritus, to be called upon for
expertise and advice when the Ccmmission is'in' particular need thereof.
All rights ar~ privileges of Ccrmissioners, with the single exception of
voting, are hereby extended to him.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Saratoga, City Co~mcil'held on the third day of October,
1984, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callon, Clevenger, Hlava, Moyles and Mayor Fanetli
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
