Campbell has recently retired after serving the Santa Clara County Library system for eighteen years, capping her career with a term of ten years as County Librarian, and WHEREAS, Ms. Campbell has ccrapiled an impressive list of accomplishments while with the County Library system, including serving as a member or chairman of State and local ccnTmittees too nunerous to mention, and WHEREAS, among her accc~lishne_nts which are of particular interest to the citizens of Saratoga are her generous assistance to the Saratoga Sister City Cc~t~, the development of a formula for city funding assistance to maintain adequate service levels; conversion of checkout systems to microccmputers, which should be on-line in Saratoga this spring; and, of course, directing the building program which resulted in the construction of our Cc~¥unity Library; and WHEREAS, she has also taken the t/me to participate actively and constructively in' Saratoga Library Ccnxnission meetings on a regular basis, bringing her staff menbers when necessary, and .... WHEREAS, Ms. Campbell has also attended study sessions as well as regular meetings of the City Council in' order to assist the Council in their budget deliberations by providing them with her usual accurate, thorough and relevant data, and WHEREAS, Ms. Campbell has scmehc~ found the t/me to serve her church, the Soroptimist Int~.~atiOnal club, and the American Association of University Wcmen. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saratoga City Council finds that BARBARA J. CAMPBF. LI, has been of significant service to the State, the County, and the City of Saratoga over a lc~g period of years. She is to be c~nended for dedicating herself to her profession while re~aining well balanced as a human being. It is ' runored that Ms. Campbell has taken up the study of accounting. While we are delighted that she is'maintaining her contact with Saratoga by conducting her studies at West Valley College, BE IT FURTHER AND MOST SERIOUSLY RESOLVED, that we encourage Ms. Campbell to reserve some part of her schedule to enjoy a pleasant and relaxed retirement. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council'held on the sixth day of February, 1985, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Callc~l, Clevenger, Hlava, Moyles and Mayor Fanelli NOES: None /s/ Virginia laden Fanelli, Mayor
