WHEREAS, the Heritage Preservation Commission of the City of Saratoga was permitted
by Mr. and Mrs. John Kahle to use their residence at 20601 Brookwood Lane in
Saratoga as one of the Heritage Homes for the Saratoga Heritage Home Tour, and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. John Kahlehave preserved and maintained in its original
condition, this residence, built in 1916 by Mr. W. F. Willard, who at that time was
the head of the elegant City of Paris department store in San Francisco and used
this residence as his countryhcme, and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. John Kahle have enjoyed maintain/rig the natural landscaping
and setting as part of the heritage of their property, creating a warmth and
character knownasthe "California Spirit," and
WP~, Mr. and Mrs. John Kahledid acceptthechallenge of having many interested
persons of the community, who have an interest in the City of Saratoga and its
homes, tour their residence on April 14, 1985, on behalf of The Heritage
Preservation Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saratoga City Council extends its sincere
appreciation, and hereby congratulates
MR. AND MRS. JOHN KAP~P,
as a 1985 Heritage Home Tour Participant, for their special interest and service to
their community. The Council, on behalf of The Heritage PreservationCommission and
all of our citizens, commends them and looks forward to their association with the
City of Saratoga for manymore years.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City
Council at a regular meeting held onthe 3rd day of July, 1985, by unanimous vote.
