WHEREAS, the Heritage Preservation Commission of the City of Saratoga was permitted
by Drs. Ann and Joseph Fitzsimmons to use their residence, known as the E. T. King
House and Caldwell House, at 14605 Big Basin Way in Saratoga as one of the Heritage
Homes for the Saratoga Heritage Home Tour, and
WHEREAS, Drs. Ann and Joseph Fitzsimmons have preserved and maintained in its
restored condition, this residence, built in 1876 by Edwin T. King (co-founder of
the Saratoga Paper Mill) and restored in 1958 by Barbara Caldwell to its original
style and appearance, and
WHEREAS, Drs. Ann and Joseph Fitzsimmons have also maintained the property,
including the original Pettis Livery Stable situated on the site, in its natural and
early City of Saratoga style, maintaining the early character of the community, and
property to meet the original appearance of this residence to preserve it as a
heritage for the pec~le of the City of Saratoga, and
WHEREAS, Drs. Ann and Joseph Fitzsimmons did accept the challenge of having many
interested persons of the community, who have an interest in the City of Saratoga
and its homes, tour their residence on April 14, 1985, on behalf of The Heritage
Preservation Commissior~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVB], that the Saratoga City COULnCil extends its sincere
appreciation, and hereby congratulates
DRS. ANN AND JOSEPH FITZSIM~ONS
as a 1985 Heritage Home Tour Participant, for their special interest and service to
their community. The Council, on behalf of The Heritage Preservation Commission and
all of our citizens, commends them and looks forward to their association with the
City of Saratoga for many more years.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City
Council at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of July, 1985, by unanimous vote.
