A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
AMENDING RESOLUTION 85-9.82 SETTING MANAGEMENT
SALARY RANGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1990/91
Resolution 85-9.82 is hereby amended to add the following
position to the salary ranges of the management group of the
City:
Environmental Programs Manager $3913 - $5087
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held
on the 7th day of November, 1990, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers ~derson, Clevenger, Kohler, Monia, and Mayor Stutzman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER
DEFINITION
The Assistant to the City Manager is a department head
position, under the direction of the City Manager,
responsible for managing and directing the functions of the
Office of the City Manager. These include the Community
Service Officer program, personnel management, HCDA
administration and other grants programs, emergency
preparedness planning, CATV franchise administration, law
enforcement liaison, the community newsletter, and
provision of staff support to the Public Safety Commission
and the Library Commission.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Plans, organizes, supervises and directs the activities and
operations of subordinate staff.
Writes and presents analyses and recommendations on policy
issues and program operations to the City Council,
commissions, staff and other organizations.
Prepares and presents budget requests and manages programs
within operational and budget guidelines.
Receives and handles queries and complaints from public;
represents the City on matters with the general public,
contractors and representatives of other organizations.
DESIRABLE OUALIFICATIONS
Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited
college or university with a major in public or business
administration, or closely related field.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible
administrative and management experience in a public agency
or closely related organization.
Driver's License: Possession of a valid, appropriate State
of California Driver's License.
