RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAKATCGA
CONFIRMING DECISIONS ON CANDIDATE'S STA~ FOR JUNE 1986 MUNICIPAL F.I.RCTION
WHEREAS, the City COuncil did, on January 15, 1986, deliberate on and
make decisions concerning the issue of fees for the printing of candidate's
statements and on the issue of permitted length of candidate's statements,
and
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to confirm these decisions in the form
of a resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, pursuant to Section 10012 of the
Elections Code, the City Council hereby determines to levy against each
candidate availing himself or herself of the service of including a candidate' s
statement in the voter' s pamphlet the fee of $230, payable at the time
the nomination papers are issued, for a statement not to exceed four
hundred (400) words in length. If the actual costs are less than $230,
the excess will be refunded to the candidate within 30 days after the
election. If the actual costs are more than $230, the candidate will
be billed for the remainder.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 5th day of February,
1986, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callon, Fanelli, Hlava, Moyles and Mayor Clevenger
