WHEKEAS, the Santa Clara Coumty Charter Amendment Measure A shall appear on the
Novenber 4, 1986, ballot, and
WHERF~, this measure, the County Parks Funding Measure, will continue for two
years the method of park funding which was passed by the voters in 1972 and
1978, and
WHEREAS, Measure A does not impose a new tax, but does guarantee that a small
rtion, $.015 per $100 of assessed valuation of all real and personal property,
~set aside for park purposes, primarily operations and maintenance, and
WHEREAS, Measure A wold help to assure more money to build boat ramps, provide
places to fish, hike, picnic and camp, and would help to provide a pleasurable
experience in safe and clean county park areas close to our homes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
supports Measure A, the County Parks Charter measure and urges its passage by
the votin~ public.

of the Saratoga City Council held on the 15th day of October, 1986, by the
followir~ vote:
