A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SARATOGA ESTABLISHING A VILLAGE DESIGN TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the Saratoga Village Specific
Plan on May 18, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Implementation Program 3.1 of the Plan calls for the
appointment of a Village Design Task Force for the purpose of
preparing Village Design Guidelines, as set forth in the Village
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires that the Task Force have a
membership of persons representing planning, preservation, business,
property owner and general community interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
establishes a Village Design Task Force, with the organization and
responsibilities as follows:
1.) Organization: The Task Force shall be composed of seven
members appointed by the Council as follows:
- One member of the Planning Commission
- One member of the Heritage Commission
- One member of the Saratoga Village Association
- One member of the Chamber of Commerce
- Two owners of property within the Village Plan boundary.
- One member-at-large with professional expertise in either
architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.
Staff support for the Task Force shall be provided by the
Planning Department.
2.) Term: The Task Force shall present a report and draft of the
Village Design manual to the City Council by December 1, 1988.
3.) Responsibilities: The Task Force shall be responsible for
translating the Village Design Chapter of the Village Plan into
a Village Design Manual. The manual shall address
architecture, landscaping, street furniture and signage;
specific sign regulations for the Village area shall be
developed and recommended to the City Council.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on
the 6th day of July. , 1988, by the following vote:
AYES: Anderson, Clevenger, Moyles, Peterson, Stutzman
