WN~R~8, Warren Hsid has served on the Heritage Preservation
Commission since it was rounded in Nay of 1982, and
WN]~, even before the Commission was found6d he was active in
historic preservation by serving as a charter member 'of the
Citizen's Advisory Committee for Historic Preservation in 1974,
and working on the development of the original historic
preservation ordinance, which eventually led to the creation of
the Heritage Preservation Commission: and
WH8RBa8, he provided outstanding leadership to the Commission,
both by his dedication to its work and by serving as chair in
1988-89, and
WH89a/%$, ~ Warren' s broad experience, including service on the
County Planning Commission, designing many local buildings, 'and a
personal involvement in the history of Saratoga and its colorful
residents, has been of great value to the Commission, and
WHSRE~8, it is notable that Warren served in a dual capacity on
the Commission as representative of both the architect/designer
profession and the Saratoga Historical Foundation, thus providing
the Commmission with both technical and non-technical expertise
on a variety of projects such as the Historical Park, Historical
Museum, and inventory research, and
WHBR~A8, he also brought a sense of purpose tempered by real-
world applications, with an understanding of the points of view
of property ownsrs and architects, and
Wl[~RaS, for all these reasons and many more, Warren Heid can
rightfully be considsred the Grand Not-So-Old Man of historic
preservation in Saratoga.

is hereby commended and thanked for his many years of hard work
on the Heritage Preservation Commission, and
BI IT FX~RTB~t BBSOLV~D THaT we wish him well in the future and
hope he will continue to make himself available as a resource to
the Heritage Preservation Commission.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 3rd day of May,
1989, by the following vote:
