RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
CONFIRMING DECISIONS ON CANDIDATE'8 STATEMENTS FOR JUNE 1990
MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the City Council did, on January 3, 1990, deliberate on and
make decisions concerning the issue of fees for the printing of
candidate's statements and on the issue of permitted length of
candidate's statements, and
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to confirm these decisions in the
form of a resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Saratoga that, pursuant to Section 10012 of the Elections Code, the
City Council hereby determines to levy against each candidate
availing himself or herself of the service of including a
candidate's statement in the voter's pamphlet the fee of $250,
payable at the time the nomination papers are issued, for a
statement not to exceed four hundred words in length. If the
actual costs are less than $250, the excess will be refunded to the
candidate within 30 days after the election. If the actual costs
are more than $250, the candidate will be billed for the remainder.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 17th day of January,
1990, by the following vote:
