RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
ENDORSING SANTA CLARA COUNTY OPEN SPACE AUTHORITY AND FUNDING
WHEREAS, our unique hillsides, wetlands, rich farmlands, creeks,
streams and reservoirs enrich and protect the quality of our lives
and make Santa Clara County a special place to live, and
WHEREAS, these natural resources must be protected to be enjoyed by
future generations, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to act now to preserve these natural
resources for our recreational enjoyment, to ensure the quality of
our environment and protect our wildlife, and
WHEREAS, an Open Space Authority can be created by Santa Clara
County voters for the purpose of acquiring, preserving and
maintaining open space for our recreational use, to protect
beautiful viewsheds and for the protection fo wildlife.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga hereby endorses the formation of the Santa Clara County
Open Space Authority and its funding source and urges voters to
vote for the Authority on the November 6, 1990, ballot.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 2nd day of May,
1990, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Moyles, Peterson and Mayor Clevenger
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Stutzman
