HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 92-002 RESOLUTION NO. 92-002 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA CONFIRMING DECISIONS ON CANDIDATE'S STATEMENTS FOR JUNE 1992 MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the City Council did, on December 18, 1991, deliberate on and make decisions concerning the issue of fees for the printing of candidate's statements and on the issue of permitted length of candidate's statements, and WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to confirm these decisions in the form of a resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga that, pursuant to section 10012 of the Elections Code, the City Council hereby determines to levy against each candidate availing himself or herself of the service of including a candidate's statement in the voter's pamphlet the fee of $450, payable at the time the nomination papers are issued, for a statement not to exceed four hundred words in length. If the actual costs are less than $450, the excess will be refunded to the candidate within 30 days after the election. If the actual costs are more than $450, the candidate will be billed for the remainder. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City council at a meeting held on the 15th day of January, 1992, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Clevenger.
