HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 94-04 RESOLUTION NO. 94-04 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ORDERING AND CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF SARATOGA ON JUNE ?, 1994; REQUESTING THE SERVICES OF T~E REGISTRAR OF VOTERS; REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF ELECTIONS AND SPECIFYING CERTAIN PROCEDURES FOR THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION; AND PROVIDING FOR GIVING NOTICE OF ELECTION RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saratoga, County of Santa Clara, State of California, as follows: 1. A general municipal election is hereby called to ~oe held in and for the City of Saratoga on Tuesday, June 7, 1994, elect three Councilmembers, each for a full term of four years. 2. Pursuant to Section 22003 of the Elections Code, t e City Council hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara to make available the services of the Registrar of Voters for the i o election supplies and voter's pamphlets. Pursuant to Elections Code Section 23o32% ' Council hereby requests the Santa Clara County Board u to order the consolidation of the general municipal election her by called with of the City o n Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors has the power to order a consolidation. The City Council further consents to ~and orders the consolidation of the general municipal election hereby called with the statewide primary election. Upon consolidation, the consolidated election shall be held and conducted, election officers appointed, voting precim:ts designated, ballots printed, polls opened at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 8:00 bal lots counted and returned, returns canvassed, and all other proceedings in connection with the election shall be regulated 'and done by the Registrar of Voters of Santa Clara Count] in accordance with the provisions of law regulating the elections so consolidated. 4. The City Clerk be and hereby is authorized al ~d directed to publish a notice of the general municipal election within the time and in the manner specified in the Elections Code SecZion 22830.
