HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 94-26 RESOLUTION MOo 94-26 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AUTHORIZING 1993/94 USED OIL CURBSIDE COLLECTION PROMOTION GRANT WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that mandates the Ca 1 i forn i a Integrated Waste Management Board to deve 1 op and implement an information and education program for the promotion of alternatives to the illegal disposal of used oil: and WHEREAS, as part of this statewide public education and information campaign, the Board is offering a grant to local governments for promotion of existing used oil curbside collection programs to encourage residents already served by curbside collection to make use of this part of California's used oil collection infrastructure; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Integrated Waste Management Board require the applicant tO certify by resolution the approval of application before submission of said application to the state; and. WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for development of the project; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saratoga authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board for a 1993/4 Used Oil Curbside Collection Promotion Grant. The Director~ Environmental Resources Agency, of the County of Santa Clara is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Saratoga all necessary applications, contracts, agreements and amendments hereto for the purpose of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application. The above and foregoing resolution was passed by the Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 15th day of June, 1994, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Anderson, Burger, Kohler, and Mayor Tucker NOES: None ABSENT: Counc i l member Mon i a y~Mayor~'/~ ~ ATTEST: Deputy City C~erk
