RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S~d~TOGA,
i~MENDIN~ THE ~ENEI~L PL~xN RELATING TO POLICY
STATEMENTS K~D IMPLF~ENT~TION PROGI~d~S WITHIN THE
NORTHWESTERN HILLSIDE SPECIFIC PLAN
Whereas, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on May
25, 1994, to consider draft amendments to the Northwestern Hillside
Specific Plan, at which time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard; and
Whereas, the Planning Commission determined that amendments
to Specific Plan boundary map and other minor textual changes are
necessary to maintain consistency between the Plan and the City
Code; and
Whereas, the City Council had previously directed, by
Resolution 94-048 and 94-049, that policy and action program
amendments are necessary to delete references to the previously
proposed Southwest-NortheastRoad project and to modify Specific
Plan language relating to the formation of benefit assessment
districts and the distribution of the Hillside Development Fund;
and
Whereas, the Planning Commission found that the Addendum to
the Northwestern Hillside Specific Plan Environmental Impact Report
prepared for this project reflects the independent judgment of the
City as a lead agency, and recommended that the City Council adopt
the addendum as attached and incorporated herein by reference; and
Whereas, the Planning Commission recommended that the City
Council adopt the General Plan Amendment within the Northwestern
Hillside Specific Plan as attached and incorporated herein by
reference; and
Whereas, the City Council held a public hearing on June 15,
1994 to consider the recommendation of the Planing Commission, at
which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be
heard.
Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of
Saratoga amends the General Plan within the Northwestern Hillside
Specific Plan as attached and contained in File No. GP-94-001,
making the following findings:
1. The amendment is consistent with the goals and policies set
forth in the General Plan;
2. General community welfare and good planning practices are
served by this amendment;
3. The amendment will not have a significant effect on the
environment. Refer to the Addendum to the Northwestern
Hillside Environmental Impact Report reviewed by the
Planning Commission.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Saratoga on the 15th day of June, 1994, by
the following vote:
AYES: Counci l meters Anderson, Burger, Kohl er, and Mayor Tucker
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Monia
