HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 95-30 RESOLUTION NO. 95-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 MAKING APPROPRXATIONS AND AUTHORIZING CARRY-OVERS THERETO AND EXPENDITURES THEREFROM WHEREAS, on May 12, 1995, the City Manager forwarded to the City Council of said City the proposed budget for the fiscal year 1995-96; and WHEREAS, the City Council. did review the proposed budget at a regular adjourned meeting on May 23, 1995, and held a duly adver- tised public hearing on the proposed budget of the City Manager and the changes made thereto by the City Council in previous sessions and took cognizance of all testimony presented, both oral and written, at its regularly scheduled meetings of June 7, adjourned meeting of June 12, and regularly scheduled meeting of June 1995. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Saratoga does resolve as follows~ Section is The City Council hereby approves expenditures in the following amounts for Fiscal Year 1995-96 consolidated budgetz Operating Programs $7,675,640 General Government 972,509 lntragov. Services 697,171 Capital Projects 1,067,530 Approp. for Contingencies 200,000 CONSOLIDATED BUDGET 810,612,850 No expenditures beyond said amounts are authorized without further action by the City Council; any adopted expenditure not expended shall be carried over to future years for subsequent expenditure authorization. sec~$Q~ 25 The following appropriations for Fiscal Year 1995-96 are hereby approvedz From Current Revenues $10,522,883 (To) From Fund Balances 89,967 TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS $10,612,850 2..9~tion 3~ General reserves shall be used exclusively for the purpose of providing necessary funds for cash flow, emergency operations, and to supplement the Consolidated Budget as needed. Accordingly, a minimum reserve of the greater of 82,000,000 or 25% of General Fund Operating Appropriations shall be maintained at the close of the Fiscal Year. Restricted reserves shall be utilized exclusively for the purposes designated in the budget document. No expenditures from the Reserves is specifically authorized, rather, reserves shall be transferred to the appropriate expenditure budget by specific action of the City Council as it deems necessary. Funds remaining in reserves at the end of this fiscal year shall be carried over to future years at the discretion of the City Council.
