A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
URGING RESIDENTS TO CONTINUE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE
BEAR CREEK REDWOODS PARK
WHEREAS, in 1977, Peninsula Open Space Trust first made Bear Creek
Redwoods one of its top priorities for protection; and
WHEREAS, two decades of persistence finally paid off in June 1999, when
Peninsula Open Space Trust and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District purchased
1,065 acres of the beautiful Bear Creek Redwoods; and
WHEREAS, the Bear Creek Redwoods will evemually open to the public as
Silicon Valley's own redwood park; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga supports the Bear Creek Redwoods Park and urges all Saratoga residents to
continue to support this effort by contributing funds to the Peninsula Open Space Trust.
The above foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City
Council at a meeting held on the 4m day of October, 2000 by the following vote:
