HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 00-055RESOLUTION NO. 00-055 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA DECLARING WEEDS GROWING ON CETAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING WHEREAS, weeds are growing in the City of Saratoga upon certain streets, sidewalks, highways, roads and private property; and WHEREAS, said weeds attain such growth as to become a fire menace or are otherwise noxious or dangerous; and WHEREAS, said weeds constitute a public nuisance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saratoga, as follows: 1. That weeds do now constitute a public nuisance; 2. That said nuisance exists upon all the streets, sidewalks, highways, roads and private property, more particularly described by common name or by reference to the tract, lot, code area and parcel number on the report prepared by the County Fire Marshal and attached hereto; 3. That it is ordered that Wednesday, the 3rd of January, 2001, at a public hearing during a regular meeting which will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers/Civic Theater, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue, is hereby fixed as the time and place where objections to the proposed destruction and removal of said weeds shall be heard and given due considerations. 4. That the County Fire Marshal is hereby designated as the person to cause notice to be given in the manner and form provided in Article 15, Chapter 7 of the Saratoga Municipal Code, and as the person to hereafter cause abatement of such seasonal and recurring nuisance. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City Council at a regular meeting held on the 1st day of November 2000, by the following vote: AYES: John Mehaffey, Nick Streit, Ann Waltonsmith, Mayor Stan Bogosian NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Evan Baker ffI'\TE~: ~.~l~¢h BiJYer; ~ity Stan Bogosian, Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 0 0- 0 5 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA MAKING APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2000/01 BUDGET WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No 00-38 adopting the budget for Fiscal Years 2000-01 and 2001-02 on June 21, 2000; and WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of said Resolution, the City Manager has recommended further changes to the City's budget; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to remodel the existing Senior Center facility, and to purchase a modular unit to expand services offered by the Senior Center, using CDBG funds, and WHEREAS, the total cost for the work at the Senior Center is estimated to be $170,951, of which $68,450 is included in the Fiscal Year 2000-01 budget, thereby requiring an additional $102,501 to be appropriated, and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund this project, and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations of the City Manager and believes that implementing these further changes will be in the best interests of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves to increase the appropriations for the Community Center/Senior Center Remodel project by $102,501, and to increase revenues from CDBG. AND BE IT FURATHER RESOLVED, the above adjustments to the City of Saratoga's Fiscal Year 2000-01 budget will be made using the following entries: 001-9010-522-4010-0104 001-1040-421-0300 270-1040-421-0300 270-1040-431-0400 Comm Center/Sr Center Cap Project Operating Transfers Into General Fund Operating Transfers Out from CDBG HCDA/CDBG Revenues Expenditures Revenues (Debit) (Credit) $102,501 102,501 102,501 102,501 The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at an adjourned meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 24th day of October, 2000, by the following vote: AYES: Evan Baker, NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None John Mehaffey, Nick Streit, Ann Waltonsmith, Stan Bogosian, Mayor Mayor
