A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BICYCLE LANES UPON,
AND REGULATING PARKING ON, CERTAIN STREETS
AND PORTIONS OF STREETS IN THE CITY OF SARATOGA
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby
resolves as follows:
Section 1: Based upon an engineering and traffic
study, and pursuant to Section 9-71.15 of the Saratoga City
Code, the following designated portions of streets in the
City of Saratoga are hereby declared to be bicycle lanes, and
the following 1.imi~.~.._[~Q1_pa.~king of motor vehicles are hereby
established for said 'bicycle lanes:

One-way bicycle lanes consisting

south side of Cox Avenue, between
Rodeo Creek and the Southern Pacific
right of way;
A one-way bicycle lane,consisting of a
5' + wide strip on the northerly side
of ~ox Avenue, from the Southern
Pacific right of way to Miller Avenue;
A-one-way bicycle lane consisting
of a 5' + wide strip, on the southerly
side of Cox Avenue between Cumberland
Drive and Miller Avenue;
One-way bicycle lanes consisting of 8' +_
wide strips, one located' on the north
side and one on the south side of Cox
Avenue, from Miller Avenue to Paseo Presada
Saratoga Avenue One-way bicycle lanes consisting of
8' + wide strips, one on the northwesterly
sid~ of Saratoga Avenue and one on the
southeasterly side of Saratoga Avenue,
between Cox Avenue and State Route B5;
Fruitvale One-way bicycle lanes consisting

the westerly side and one on the
easterly side of Fruitvale Avenue, NO PARKING
between Saratoga Avenue and ANY TIME

Section 2: Such of the hereinabove set forth regulations
as establ'~ bicycle lanes on State Highways shall become effec-
tive at such time as the requisite consent thereto and approval
thereof by the Department of Public Works and/or the Department
of Transport.ation of the State of California has been obtained.
Section 3: The hereinabove set forth "No Parking"
provisions shall hot prohibit the parking of motor vehicles
for the purpose of making deliveries to properties contiguous
to said bicycle lanes for a period of not in excess of five
minutes.
SectiOn 4: The City Engineer is hereby authorized to
designate" tH'~ he~reinabove set forth bicycle lanes by the
requisite paintin and installation of signs designating and
delineating said ~anes.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Saratoga at a regular meeting
held on the 18th day of December , 1974, by the following
vote:
