He~nandez asked fOr.permission to build unit entirely inside the RL[. Zone, within 1-~- ft. from the boundary of. the R!' zone. The secretary then read the application for architec- tural and site control permit dated Oct. '1.[, !9~7 and the Planning Commfssion minutes of Oct. 14, 19~7 and Oct. 28, 19~7. ND V~RIANCES V-~" San ~ V-33 San jose water works Jose Water Works The secretary displayed the new plans submitted by San Jose Water Works showing the plans for fencing, p!antin9 native shrubs and the water in- take point. Mr. Andrews, Ban Jose Water Works, explained the aerial photo of the site. Mrs.Keller, Pierce 'Rd., asked what effect does San Jose Water Works expect that pueblo. rights will have on the dam. Mr ....Zndrews stated that San Jose j:jater Works had not been conradted by the city of San Jose about pueblo rights. Commissioner Pasett'a asked why San Jose Water Works was not putting a chain i ink fence around the Mr.' ~:mdrews stated that the company had estimated the cost for this type of fence at $18,000. In reply to a question from Commissioner Cr'i-sp, Mr Andrews agreed to planting native plants at the fence line also'. Mr. Bushnell stated that only' shrubs could be planted on earth fill dams as trees can cause a 9re'at deal sf damage because of their tap root s. Mr. _.-~mdrews stated that a chain link fence would- b. ave to be put'up if'~the dam site proved to be an attractive nuisance. Mr. Bushnell was directed to ascertain the exact araount of fenceing needed. Commissioner W~bster stated that he would like to see the actual site of the dam before making a decision.
