Commissioner Anderson moved for approval of the minutes as distributed and read. Commissioner Higgins seconded~ Car- ried unanimously. II COMMITTEE REPORTS A. ARCHITECTURAL A~ SITE CONTROL A-9 1. A-9 - George Kocher Geo.Kocher George Kocher discussed the sidewalk with the Commiss- ioners. Commissioner Higgins moved for approval of the Archi- tectural and Site Control Permit according to Exhibit "A", subject to additional paving being installed be- tween the front entranceway and the sidewalk, the width to be the same as the entrance platform. Commissioner Crisp seconded. Carried Unanimously. 2. A-10 - V. E. Harkins'(Blue Hills SiSn) A-lO Commissioner Higgins moved for approval of the Archi-- V.E.Harkins tectural and Site Control Permit, according to Exhibit "A", for a single line of neon tubing (blue or white) on the words "Blue Hills", subject to permanent remov- al of the secondary sign on top of the primary sign before any installation of neon. Commissioner Anderson seconded. Carried unanimously- III PUBLIC HEARINGS A- USE PEP~ITS UP-13 1. UP-13 - City of Saratoga - ?:30 P.M. City of Saratoga The Secretary read the application for a corporation yard at the Civic Center Site. No one spoke for or against from the audience. Chairman Webster closed the public hearing at 7:li-2 P.M. Commissioner Crisp moved for approval of the Use Per- mit. Commissioner Anderson seconded. Carried unani- mously. UP-i4 2. UP-14 - Brookside Club of Saratoga - 7:45 P.M. Brookside Club o~ The Secretary read the application and explained the Saratoga history of the matter. R. A. Keller, representing the Brookside Club, spoke in favor of ~he application. Letters from the following people were read: James F. Burns, 12681 Saratoga Creek Drive, dated Decem- ber, 28, 1959; Frank L. B. VARIANCES V-163 1. V-163 - T. E. Lewis - 9:28 P.M. Lewis The Secretary read the application for a variance in site width. Dr. Lewis and Mr. Paul Swanson spoke in favor of the vari- ance. No one in the audience spoke against the application. Chairman Webster ordered the public hearinG closed at 9:45 P.M. and referred the matter to the Variance Com- mittee for a report at the next regular meeting. II COMMITTEE REPORTS (Continued) B. SUBDIVISION AND BUILDING SITE APPROVAL SD-I~[. 1. 5D=144 - S. S. Willjams Willisms The Secretary read a letter in the file, dated December 28, 1959, from S. S. Willisms, asking that the ~earing be postponed for thirty days, until January 28, 1960. Chairman Webster ordered the matter continued to the january 25th, 1960 meetinG. 2. UP-9 - Toyon LodGe UP-9 Commissioner Anderson read the report of the Subdivision Toyon LodGe Committee, dated December 28th, 1959. Commissioner Anderson moved for approval. of the Use Per- mit, subject to the conditions as read, with condition (c) to read 'iAdequate and safe access and egress shall be provided to and from the property." Commissioner Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously. ~ 3. SDR-161 - Toyon Lodge SDR-161 Commissioner Anderson read the report of the Subdivision Toyon Lod9e Committee, dated December 28, 1959, and a letter from the Fire Marshal, dated December 9, 1959. Mr. Mancini discussed the conditions with the Commissioners. -3- SDR-161 Commissioner Anderson moved for approval of the tentative Toyon Lodge map, subject to the eight (8) conditions read. Commiss- ioner Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously. SDR-165 4. SDR-165 - H. C. Turner' Turner Commissioner Anderson reported that a meetin9 had been held with the applicant, to discuss the proposed conditions, and that a further meetin9 was planned. Commissioner.Webster ordered the matter continued to the next regular meetin9 for further report. UP-i0 5. UP-10 - San Jose Water Works S.j.Water Works Commissioner Anderson read the report of the Subdivision Committee, dated December 28th, 1959- Mr. Norman Andrews, San Jose Water Works, aareed to the conditions read. Dr. Broemer spoke in opposition to the Use Permit. Commissioner Anderson moved for approval of the Use Per- mit, subject to the conditions read. Commissioner Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously. IV OLD BUSINESS A. REQUIREI~ZNTS FOR VARIANCE AND USE PERMIT APPLICATIONS Variance & Use Permit The City Administrator presented a new form for Variance, Use .%ppllcations Permit and Architectural and Site Control Permit Applications and stated that all requirements are listed on the form. This form will be mimeoGraphed and used for a trial period of sixty days and then be printed. B. MINIMUM LOT SIZE REVISION Lot Size Revision T~e City Ad~inistr&tor presented amap received from the Planning Consultant. Commissioner Crisp moved that the Secretary be directed to set a date for public hearin9 on the minimum lot size re- vision. Commissioner Hi99tns seconded. Carried unanimously. C.
