Action Minutes
I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
II. Roll Call
Commissioners Present: Ceppos, Grantham, Sessler,
Skow, Foscato, Towse
Com-issionerAbsent: Peacock
Others Present: Dolly Barnes, Susan Fuller, Irene Jacobs
III. Report on Posting of Co~mission Agenda
Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda was
properly posted on March 17, 1995.
IV. Approval of Minutes of December 7,~994, Meeting
Commissioner Grantham made a motion to adopt the minutes
as written, Commissioner Ceppos seconded the motion. The
vote to approve the minutes was unanimous.
V. O~d Business
A. Status of Foundation
Nothing to report
B. Joint pQwers Authority Update
The first meeting of the JPA has been scheduled for April
20th. At this meeting the JPA plans to approve by-laws,
establish meeting dates etc. This public meeting will be
held at headquarters downtown form 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
C. Saratoga Library-Meeting Evaluation
The meeting was a success. Several people attended the
meeting thinking that they would learn more about
Internet but overall their was a positive response from
attendees. Once the Internet is up and running, another
meeting will be scheduled. Presently there is a
committee (two volunteers plus two staff members) who is
meeting to discuss how the Internet should be presented
to the public.
D. Vi$~Qn ~020 -_First.Steps
The commission discussed the "Near Term" items on their
vision plan. It was decided that a letter would be
drafted and addressed to the City Council requesting that
the City cover the costs of summer Sundays in addition to
funding 36 weeks during the school year.

VII. Reports
Susan Fuller, County Librarian
Ms. Fuller reported that the following Tuesday, she would
be Doing tO the Board of Supervisors to receive approval
for various improvements such as the upgrading of 63
positions and the Central Processing Unit among other
things.
The "schools project" is still underway. School and
county representatives are meeting to discuss goals. The
county is currently working with Redwood Middle School
and schools in Milpitas.
The county and the Mercury News are working on a joint
project to cover common ground issues. Issues to be
covered will be affirmative action, campaign funds and
monies for cities.
Dolly Barnes, Community Librarian
Ms. Barnes reported that new staff members would be
trained next year as a result of the new positions that
were added as a result of Measure A.

IX. Adjournment
Commissioner Grantham made a motion to adjourn the
meeting. The vote to adjourn was approved unanimously
and the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
