II. OLD BUSINESS
A. UPDATE TRAIL PLAN
The Master Plan of Trails and Pathways the Commissioners
received in their packets was not helpful in
distinguishing trail designations or whether or not the
trails have been completed. Ed Gomersall noted that the
only active trails are in the Parker Ranch area.
Commissioner Vallone suggested starting from scratch with
new maps using differnt color designations for eachtype
of trail. Commissioner Pierce suggested mylar overlays.
The Commissions' consensus is that no decisions can be
made until a more comprehensive map is available. Dan
suggested consulting with experts on trail use.

Commissioner Vallone reported on the vandalism at
Congress Springs Park. Approximately $5,000 worth of
damage was reported. Little League has installed a
burglar alarm. City will install lights on photocell for
outside snack shack. Little League is also requesting a
sign prohibiting skateboarding in the parking lot. Dan
stated that it will require Council action for the sign
to be enforceable.

Joan Pisani reported that the Recreation Department
has created a coed softball league playing 2 nights per
1
week, 2 games per night. Playoffs the week of August
4th. They would have also started a men's league but
have a problem in that no fields are available. Dan
mentioned that E1 Quito is very much in demand and
something will have to be done to establish priority.

received 850 responses to the recreation survey and they
are still coming in. Volunteers are tallying the
results.
