SARATOGA PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION

I. ORGANIZATION

B. MINUTES - Approval of Minutes - ll/91.
C. POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda for this meeting
was properly posted on 1/2/92.
III. A. CDBG Program - Secretary Trinidad presented background on
previous Commission submittals and their rate of success, e.g.
Wildwood Bridge, handicapped access restroom at Wildwood Park.
The following ideas were presented for consideration:
1) Play structure for disabled children
2) Van for disabled children and Seniors to attend City programs
3) Purchase of apartments in existing retirement housing to
make available to eligible Saratoga residents
4) More crosswalks/sidewalks in Saratoga
5) Special programs/park improvements for Seniors
6) Sound for vision impaired crossing at intersections
7) Wheelchair lift/disabled ramp at Hakone Gardens
Secretary Trinidad was asked to review the process once a CDBG
project was approved. He explained the Engineering Department's
role as well as the complete process.
B. CPRS Conference/Long Beach - If approved, attendees will be:
Mark Pierce, Marianne Swan, Bob Rizzo and Joan Pisani.
V. A. Brooks' Letter - To support Bill Brooks' position on the trail
dedication policy, Commissioner Franklin suggested a letter be
written by the Commission adding their support. Commissioners
were also encouraged to attend the hearing of January 28th.
B. Secretary Trinidad reminded the Commissioners of the skateboard
public hearing on January 15th.
An attendance schedule for upcoming Council meetings was agreed
upon as follows:
February - Ward May - Miller
March - Swan June - Gilman
April - Pierce July - Franklin
August - Crotty
The Commissioners thanked M or the great Xmas party.
