Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda for this meeting
was properly posted on 7/1/92.
A. Architect Prespntation on Wildwood Park ImDrovements
Jeffrey Heid returned to present the Commission with updated
plans/drawings/listing of items/costs based on the Commission
input from the previous month's meeting. The Commission directed
staff to take their recommendation for acceptance to Council.
Pierce/Miller. 6/0.
B. Wildwood Park Stage Area Repairs
After reviewing the past users' questionnaires which were
returned to staff, it was determined that the public was
mostly happy with the stage facility at Wildwood, although
it is desparately in need of repair. Commissioner Swan
reiterated the need for a dressing/multi-purpose area under
the stage for future use. Secretary Trinidad explained that
it is necessary to approach the Council for an appropriation
as there is no money budgeted for repair.
The consensus of the Commission was that, as dangerous as it
is in its present condition, money should be appropriated for its
repair after a structural engineer has evaluated its condition.
If no money is available now, the stage should be closed off.
A possible solution would be to take money from another park
project not yet begun, such as Beauchamps or Ravenwood Park, as
the safety issue here should have highest priority as it carries
with it a great liability. The image of Saratoga also has to be
taken into consideration. Ward/Miller. 6/0
II. C. Tract 7770 Trail Abandonment
After consultation with Bill Brooks, a resident trail user,
it was determined that the trail abandonment should be
approved. Pierce/Ward. 6/0.
III. A. E1 Quito Park Commun%~y Gardens
Secretary Trinidad provided background on the Community
Garden for the Commissioners. He introduced a Saratoga
gardener, Calvin Judd, who maintains plots at E1 Quito.
The Commissioners asked to view the Garden Plots at
their next meeting prior to adopting the recommended
rules and regulations. They also wanted a few changes
to the rules, and clarification of a "senior" citizen.
Pierce/Ward. 6/0
