C. POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Pursuant of Government Code 54954.2 the agenda for
this meeting was posted on the City Hall Kiosk
January 11, 1995.

III. NEW BUSINESS
A) D$scu~ionn of the Proposed San Juan Bautista de
Anza National Historic Trail.

Secretary Rizzo reviewed with the Commission the
proposed San Juan Bautista de Anza National
Historic Trail and the proposed segment that may
come through Saratoga. The proposed trail segment
is along the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way
(SPRR). This proposed segment would be an
excellent substitution for the trail along the
utility right-of-way as identified in the City's
Master Plan.
Secretary Rizzo informed the Commission of the
upcoming public meeting by the National Park
Service to discuss the proposed trail plan as it
comes through Santa Clara County on February 6,
1995 at the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino.
Chairperson Crotty requested that the Commission
attend this meeting and requested Secretary Rizzo
to write a letter on behalf of the Commission
supporting the development of the trail segment
through Saratoga along the SPRR property.
B) ProP p~gd Revision~f Field Reservation Fee Schedule
for E10uito Park.
Secretary Rizzo reviewed with the Commission the
proposed field reservation fee schedule for E1
Quito Park and the results of a survey that the
City's current fee structure for use of this field
is far below the median fee structure of
surrounding cities. The Commission approved the
proposed new fee structure as stated in Secretary
Rizzo's report to the Commission. Swan/Weiner 6/0
C) Discussion of the city's Tennis Court Playing Time
Limit Policy.
Secretary Rizzo reviewed with the Commission a
letter recently received from Mr. Priel, a
Cupertino resident, regarding the City's Tennis
Court Playing Time Limit Policy. Current time
limit policy is Singles 30 minutes and Doubles 1
hour. After review of the results of staff's
telephone survey the Commission recommended that
the playing time limit be increased to Singles 1
hour and Doubles 1 hour. Clark/Miller 6/0

V. COMMISSION AND STAFF REPQRTS
A. Commissioner's Reports:
Commissioner Weiner reported on the recently held
Town Meeting and some of these issues were
discussed at the meeting by the public.
Commissioner Swan inquired about the City's
attendance policy for the Commission. Secretary
Rizzo will report back to the Commission.
B. ~evigus MgDth council Meeting Report:
No report - due to the Joint City Council and
Commission meeting on December 13, 1994.
C. Recreation Department Status Report - Joan Pisani:
Informed the Commission of the date for this years
City Parade which will be held on October 8, 1995
and that Benny Pierce, retired Saratoga High School
football coach, will be Grand Marshall.
D. P~rk ~aintenance Division Update - Bob Rizzo:
Discussed the request from the Council to have the
Commission develop a list of major projects and/or
assignments that the Commission would like to work
on over this next year. The Commission list is as
follows:
1) Park Master Plan Update
2) Kevin Moran/Azule Park Development Process
3) San Juan Bautista de Anza Trail along the
$PRR
4)Carnelian Glen Court Trail
Dogs in Parks
6) Continued Support for the Adopt-A-Park
Program and Creek Beautification Program
Discussed rescheduling the next Commission Meeting
for February 6, 1995 at 6PM in order that the
Commission may attend the De Anza Trail public
meeting at 7PM.
