ORGANIZATION A. ~ - Present: Clark, Crotty, Dutra (arrived 7:45), Miller, Swan, Whitney Absent: Weiner Staff: Pisani, Rizzo B. MINUTES Minutes of the April 1, 1996 meeting were approved. Swan/Miller 5/0 C. POSTING OF THE AGENDA Secretary Rizzo reported that pursuant to Government Code 54954.2 the agenda for this meeting was posted on the City Hall Kiosk on May, 1, 1996. II. OLD BUSINESS None III. NEW BUSINESS Review and comment on Subdivision Map (~96-002) regarding proposed Pedestrian/Equestrian Trail Easements. Secretary Rizzo summarized the history of the trail plan surrounding locations and reviewed the proposed Pedestrian/Equestrian Trail Easement through this property. The Commission recommended that the trail be constructed in the easement as shown and requested the need for an additional P.E.E. from the existing easement over the proposed bridge to Chiquita Ct. Crotty/Whitney 6/0 -". NRITTEN COMMUNICAT~0N (None) V. COI~ISSION ~ STAFF REPORTS A) Commissioner Crotty informed the Commission on the recent action of the Community Recreation and Park Task Force. She reviewed the upcoming workshop scheduled for Saturday June 8. The purpose of the workshop is to give the community an opportunity for input on park and recreational needs of Saratoga. After the next Commission meeting scheduled for June 3, the Commission and Task Force will receive training for the workshop. Commissioner Crotty discussed the recent very successful creek clean-up day held April 20 at Wildwood Park. Commissioner Whitney informed the Commission regarding two upcoming children's workshop entitled "Hands on the Arts" to be held May 18 - Sunnyvale Community Center. She presented a short video "Cost of Denial" to the Commission which discussed and promotes the need to target youth programming as it does have a direct effect on youth crime. Commissioner Dutra reported on the Saratoga Creek Watershed Festival scheduled for Sunday May 19 at Wildwood Park. Commissioner Miller reported that Planning Commissioner Pierce is now a member of the Bicycle Advisory Committee. B) Recreation Department Status Report - Joan Pisani Joan Pisani reported on the Summer Camp Program's, the Youth Commission's upcoming meeting with City Council and the list of activities for the 4th of July Celebration. C) Park Maintenance Division UDdat~ - Bob Rizzo Bob Rizzo reported on the Adopt-A-Park program having two new applicants for E1 Quito Park and Historical Park.
